John Davis Marshall mentors men, serves as a relationship consultant, and a facilitator for conflict resolution. He has authored 12 books and given more than 3,000 presentations throughout 24 states and 134 cities. Along with receiving a M.A. in Counseling, he has done graduate studies at Freed-Hardeman University, University of Memphis, Andrew Jackson University, and Amridge University.

John, the grandson of a former slave, was born and raised in Medon, (just outside of Jackson) Tennessee.  He is married to the former Priscilla Jackson of Blytheville, Arkansas.  They have four children (Terrence, Marrkus, Jondreia and Johnathan) and five grandchildren (Kori, Brianna, Jorden, Tyler, and Destiny).
